Mojito Gift Basket

We’ve reached the end of another school year, and while our teachers may have wanted coffee and chocolate to keep them going through the long days of teaching, now it’s time to kick off summer with a little fun! And by fun, I mean a cocktail. They deserve it!! (Not to mention, a stomach bug blew through several classrooms the last week of school…they *really* deserve to relax with a yummy cocktail!)

This year, I decided to put together a mojito basket for my eldest’s teacher and I could not be more obsessed. I omitted the alcohol, and included a Visa gift card so she can pick up her rum of choice. Here’s how I put it together!

I love creating a basket for a gift. To me it feels more personal, and it brings me joy to zhuzh everything up “just so” so the recipient can feel the effort I put into it.

I grabbed a cute basket at Michael’s on sale so I didn’t break the bank right off the bat. The one I used was only around $9.

Next, I added limes, the most adorable tiny cans of club soda, a bottle of simple syrup, some cute cups and mojito themed cocktail napkins (both found at Home Goods), a festive on-theme kitchen towel from Michael’s, and a mojito mint plant that I picked up at our local greenhouse! (It smells *so* amazing.)

To finish it off, I designed a little recipe card to tuck in the basket, and a tag to hang on the front. I even included a printable so you can grab the same ones!

This basket would be great for anyone who deserves a sweet “thank you”, as a hostess gift for summer party, or as a birthday gift for a friend. If you want to take it a step further, you could even include some fresh seasonal berries to create a flavored mojito!

It goes without saying, but it’s so important to make sure the recipient drinks alcohol! You won’t want to make anyone uncomfortable if they choose to not drink for any reason. I’d reserve this one for people you know well, and maybe not a brand new neighbor for example!

Let me know if you give this idea a try and who you made it for!
